Das Wichtigste ist die gute Vorbereitung

Bevor so eine aufregende Reise starten kann, muss man einiges vorbereiten. Von der Flug und Hostel Buchung über Reisepass und Geld bestellen bis hin zu Reiseimpfungen.

Um das alles rechtzeitig zu schaffen, solltest du auch dementsprechend früh alles bürokratische hinter dich bringen. Bis der normale Reisepass bei dir zu Hause ankommt, können schon mal gut vier Wochen vergehen und auch wenn du nicht mit dem Euro zahlen kannst, solltest du das Geld mindestens zwei Wochen vorher bestellen. Es empfiehlt sich hier, den Wechselkurs ein wenig zu beobachten und zu einem günstigen Zeitpunkt zu wechseln.

Je nach Reiseziel brauchst du eventuell auch ein paar Impfungen. Ich musste zum Glück nichts altes mehr auffrischen, allerdings kamen einige neue Impfungen hinzu. Bei manchen Impfungen reicht eine Impfladung nicht aus und andere kannst du nach deiner Reise auf einen lebenslänglichen Schutz ausweiten. Du solltest dir darüber im Klaren sein, dass es ein bis zwei Monate dauern kann, bis du alle nötigen Impfungen hast. Die wirklich hohen Kosten für den Impfstoff kannst du bei deiner Krankenkasse einreichen. Fast jede zählt es zu ihren Leistungen dazu und wenn nicht, versuche es trotzdem. Mit deinen Impfungen ersparst du der Krankenkasse nämlich eventuelle spätere Kosten, die definitiv höher ausfallen werden. Ich habe einfach alle Belege und Rezepte gut gesammelt und in einem Schwung eingereicht. So lief alles ohne Probleme und ich habe einen Teil der Kosten erstattet bekommen.

Jetzt fehlt nur noch eins. Ein kleines Mitbringsel für meine Gastfamilie und meinen Projektkoordinator. Ich habe mich dazu entschieden Süßigkeiten mitzubringen. Da deutsche Schokolade und Gummibärchen in Peru immer gerne gesehen sind. Für meine Gastfamilie schaue ich noch nach einem Gesellschaftsspiel, um das Eis am Anfang hoffentlich schnell zu brechen. Die Kinder in meinem Projekt werden sich mit Sicherheit über Gummibärchen freuen und beim Vertrauensaufbau helfen.

Now only one is missing. A small souvenir for my host family and my project coordinator. I decided to bring sweets. Because German chocolate and gummy bears are always welcome in Peru. For my host family, I'm still looking for a party game to hopefully break the ice at the beginning quickly. The children in my project will definitely be happy about gummi bears and help build trust.
